With gratitude to G‑d and with your help and support, we are pleased to announce that Pardess has completed the purchase of what will be an innovative, one-of-a-kind center: Pardess Chabad Farms.

Pardess Chabad Farms will enrich all our existing programs with authentic, hands-on experiences in a most serene setting. The farm will produce natural, Kosher resources and home-grown specialty foods. It will offer educational workshops and provide opportunities for the community to join together in planting and harvesting crop and caring for animals.

About Pardess

Welcome to Pardess Center for Jewish Life!

Guided by the teachings of the Rebbe, and spurred on by the Rebbe’s unconditional love for every Jew and his unparalleled activism in making this world a better place, Rabbi Zalman and Goldy Sandhaus, together with their children, are committed to the enhancement of the spiritual, physical and material welfare of Jewish residents, locally, as well as tourists, guests and visitors.

Pardess reaches out to every Jew, regardless of background or affiliation and in a warm, welcoming, informative atmosphere awakens Jewish pride and solidarity, linking every Jew to his or her G‑dly essence.

Pardess is an affiliate of the global Chabad-Lubavitch outreach network and is inspired by the teachings of the Lubavitcher Rebbe.

The Name

The Hebrew word “Pardess” literally means “orchard,” and is an acronym for four levels of interpreting the Torah: Pshat, Remez, Drush, Sod.

Pshat is the simple, literal meaning of the text;
Remez (allusion) includes explanations based on hints in the text, such as acronyms and numerical values of the Hebrew letters;
Drush (or Midrash) refers to the homiletic interpretation;
Sod (secret) is the esoteric, mystical dimension of the Torah, namely Kabbalah.

Pardess provides the opportunity to gain from the Torah’s teachings and traditions at whatever level the participant is comfortable. Jewish individuals and families of any background can explore their heritage in a non-judgmental and warm environment. It is the uniqueness of every individual that makes the orchard beautiful—and our community complete.
